Paw Pals Animal Rescue had been featured in the article "Fur-ever friends" at Time Out Shanghai Family magazine, Summer 2018 issue (pages 42 and 43). Huge thanks to Ms. Amy Snelling for her kindness in interviewing a PPAR volunteer and featuring our non-profit animal rescue group in her article.

Her Story: Dora is a three-color female kitten, about ten months old now, with a very cute round face and colorful “freckles”. Dora used to live in the outdoors of a compound in Shanghai, but that compound was not safe and stray cats living there often disappeared suddenly. Consequently, the rescuer of Dora decided to help her to find a good forever home as she is such too affectionate with people. She is a super sweet, 3-month old tortoiseshell kitten looking for a forever home! She has a very lovely and friendly personality, and loves to give kisses to everybody! Her Story: Cutte is a lovely tabby kitty with beautiful round eyes, a lovely pink nose and silky whiskers. She was abandoned this spring at a residential compound. It seems that she hid in the bushes for many days but, when hunger eventually forced her to join the other stray cats to beg for food, she was dangerously thin. Fortunately, a kind rescuer found Cutte, saved her and sent her to a pet hospital for treatment. Now, Cutte is a healthy and super cute kitty. Name: Blue Age: About 1 year old Gender: Male Health: Treated for fleas and worms, and vaccinated. He will be neutered very soon. His Story: The white cat with blue eyes is very sweet. Blue was found sitting in a weird position at the edge of a lane in an elevated highway. He was injured in the belly and legs with multiple soft tissues damage. Blue’s right back leg has CDH (Congenital dysplasia of the hip), but the Veterinary doctor said luckily Blue can walk well so it is not mandatory to perform a surgery on him. Name: Josefina and Luna Age: Josefina is approx. 1-2 years old, and Luna is approx. 3 months old. Gender: Both female Health: Josefina has been vaccinated and spayed. Luna will be vaccinated soon. Josefina is an adult female cat that was found abandoned during the last Chinese New Year inside a residential building. It took several days to catch her as she was terrified, starving, hiding and moving in the apartment complex stairwell. She was finally rescued on February 23, being abandoned and quite scared. Luna was abandoned by her previous owner in a compound but, fortunately, she was rescued by a volunteer and, like many rescued animals, she is very grateful to whoever is good to her. She is a playful and smart kitty, and gets along well with other kitties. Luna was adopted some time ago, but she was returned to PPAR because the child of the adopter became allergic to cats' hair after one year of having Luna at home. Name: Lian Age: Approx. 2 years old Gender: Female Health: Treated for fleas and worms, vaccinated and spayed. Her Story: Lian is a colorful tabby kitty with light green eyes. Lian is a quiet and graceful cat and she looks a little blue ... we guess that maybe she is missing her former family. Lian was raised by a shop owner; she was responsible for catching mice and keeping the shop safe. However, when the shop owner moved to another place, he abandoned Lian on the street even though she did great job for his shop. One day the rescuer found Lian on the street and, at that time, Lian was still waiting for her owner near the door of the closed shop. A neighbor told Lian's story to the rescuer

Name: Jade Age: 3 years old Gender: Female Health: Treated for fleas and worms, vaccinated, and spayed. Her Story: Jade is a three-color kitty, some people might think that she is not very beautiful, but she certainly is. Furthermore, Jade has a very gentle and sweet personality, she loves people very much and she gets along well with other cats too. Jade was found last winter during a TNR program. Originally, Jade was sterilized and released after her operation … but Jade did not leave, she just stayed in the place where she was released and settled there. Her rescuer heard that Jade was not a stray cat as she had had home, but her former family finally abandoned her when they moved away. G

Name: Stan Age: 9 months Gender: Female Health: Sterilized and vaccinated. Her Story: Stan was pregnant and living in the rescuer’s neighborhood. Other people complained, and security was going to catch her and kill her, so the rescuer intervened, saved her and in time successfully re-homed her babies. Now Stan is looking for a forever loving home. She is a happy, healthy and loyal dog. Her Story: Julie was living on the street with her siblings, then one day all of her siblings went missing and Julie was found with a badly broken leg. She was rescued and looked after by a kind volunteer. Now Julie runs, jumps and plays happily. Her injured leg does not give her any problems. She is a sweet girl in need of a forever caring home. Her Story: Since she was a puppy Shan Shan would hang around outside a local school hoping that passing children and parents would throw her some food. However, when the rainy season came she struggled to get enough food, while the parents began to complain as they worried about the safety of their children.
